After years of studying the human body, I believe that true health starts from within, namely through digestion. It turns out, we really are what we eat.
My journey to understanding this process began while working with traumatic head injury patients during my undergraduate work at the University of California, Irvine. Working therapeutically with the patients, I was able to witness the power of the human body’s ability to repair itself. Although there was little definitive research at that time between trauma and nutrition, I was already noticing a connection between the two.
Over the last eighteen years, the research confirming this connection has been overwhelming. Having practiced and studied the effectiveness of, and relationship between, homeopathy, nutrition and the body’s innate intelligence, I am excited to provide this knowledge when assessing my clients’ health. Certified in Homeopathic Acute Care and in Nutritional Therapy, I am able to use both areas of practice when helping clients address and resolve health issues. I am also Certified as a GAPS Practitioner (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) and use this approach to help with the digestive issues often associated with mental health issues.
Taking control of your overall wellness begins with choosing a practitioner who listens to your concerns; that’s why I believe the first step to healing is being heard. The next step is listening to our bodies. Oftentimes, our bodies give us signs and symptoms to guide us to the root cause of imbalance from within. In many cases, what we have been eating is making us who we are. Therefore, it is wise to heed the age old saying, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine thy food." That is my goal in working with my clients and guiding them toward health and healing.
